Hi, this carrier agreed on $325 on a shipment. They signed the RC. The shipment was paid upon delivery. Once they get on site we made the payment and the dispatcher started asking for $75 more or they took back the load, so hostaging the load for extra money until that $75 paid off. We made an $25 additional payment on top of $325 and they asked $25 more. The driver abused the customer. Right now they are not sending the POD and asking us to get it from the customer and attaching proof below.
This broker is a complete liar. First thing was that when I spoke to the broker on the phone and he said that it had two pickups. When he said that, I told him that I could do it for $400. He said "okay". No one in their right mind would take a load that 182 miles and 2 pickups for $325. They have an extremely low credit score so I made it clear that we expect to be paid prior to dropping.
As such, we made the drop and I requested the pay. He sent $325 and I did indeed tell him to send the rest. Finally, after getting annoyed, I settled and took the $25 and left. No abuse was made to the customer. I explained to the customer that because of their credit rating and history, that I couldn't release the product until paid.
Look at this actual rate con that the customer sent. They don't even put a rate on it and specify. Professional companies make sure that it's stated. Unfortunately this took place because the broker went back on their word and didn't specify
